Short reads on stress, recovery, and structured contrast — from the people who dose it every day.
Notas sobre frío, calor y recuperación.
Contrast therapy works by moving your body between two extremes — cold water constricts blood vessels and calms inflammation, heat from the sauna dilates them and relaxes muscle tissue. Cycling between the two is commonly associated with faster perceived recovery, improved circulation, and a sharper sense of alertness afterward.
It's also, simply, a reset. Fifty minutes with no phone, no meetings, and two very clear physical sensations tends to clear the head as much as it does the body.
The plunge
The heat
Tempo Studio runs two fixed presets. Beginner sits around 12–13°C — cold enough to feel real, gentle enough for a first plunge. Pro runs 7–9°C, for guests with prior contrast therapy experience who want a sharper stimulus.
If it's your first time, start Beginner. Breathe out slowly as you enter instead of gasping in — that single habit does more for a comfortable first plunge than anything else. Your host will walk you through both presets before your session starts.
One session feels good. A routine changes how you feel week to week. Guests who visit consistently — once or twice a week — tend to report the clearest, most lasting effects on sleep, mood, and recovery, rather than those who come in only occasionally.
If you're local or spending extended time in Puerto Vallarta, a membership is the simplest way to build that rhythm without rebooking from scratch every time.
